There is space here for all of it: the calm, the storm, and everything in between.
Whatever brings you to therapy, my hope is that we create a space where you feel genuinely seen, heard, and accepted, exactly as you are.

Meet Your Therapist
Home has taken on many meanings throughout my life.
I was born and raised in Hawaiʻi, where I learned the importance of community, connection, and caring for one another. Growing up in such a special place instilled in me a deep appreciation for slowing down, being present, and recognizing that our well-being is deeply intertwined with the relationships and environments that surround us.
Since then, life has taken me to many different places. I moved to Omaha, Nebraska for undergrad, where my passion for understanding people and their stories continued to grow. I later had the opportunity to live abroad in Glasgow, Scotland, and Kabale, Uganda. These experiences broadened my perspective, deepened my appreciation for the richness and complexity of different cultures and lived experiences, and reinforced the importance of accessible mental health care and compassionate advocacy. They reminded me that, regardless of where we come from, our need for connection, understanding, and support is universal.
Los Angeles, California became the next chapter of my journey, where I earned my Masters of Social Work at the University of Southern California and began my career as a therapist. Throughout my work, I've had the privilege of supporting individuals in community mental health, providing outreach and mental health services to people experiencing homelessness, working in residential treatment, and eventually transitioning into private practice. Each setting has reinforced the same belief: healing isn't one size fits all. Every person's story is unique, and every individual deserves care that honors their experiences, values, and strengths.
Today, I call Reno, Nevada home. Looking back, I am grateful for each place that has shaped me and the people I have met along the way. These experiences continue to influence how I show up as a therapist, with curiosity instead of assumptions, compassion instead of judgment, and a deep respect for the resilience that exists within every person.
It is truly an honor to be invited into someone's story. My hope is to offer a space where you feel safe enough to show up authentically, explore your experiences with curiosity, and discover that healing does not require becoming someone new. It often begins with reconnecting to who you have been all along.

Therapy is a meaningful investment in your well-being, and I strive to make the process as seamless and transparent as possible.
Sora Nami Therapy is self-pay and welcomes clients who wish to use their out-of-network (OON) insurance benefits. Payment is due at the time of each session. If your plan includes out-of-network mental health coverage, I'll provide a superbill that you can submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement. Since benefits vary by plan, I recommend contacting your insurance provider to better understand your coverage and potential reimbursement.
I understand that navigating the financial aspects of therapy can sometimes feel overwhelming. If you have any questions about fees, payment, or using your out-of-network benefits, I am here to help. My goal is to make the process as simple as possible so you can devote your energy to what truly matters: your healing, growth, and well-being.
